Who created the detailed aesthetic theory of classicism?

Classicism in Europe originated in the 17th century. This direction reached its highest development in France. The aesthetic theory of classicism was formed by the French poet and critic Nicolas Boileau in his poem “Poetic Art”. According to Boileau’s theory, the classicists had to strictly follow ancient models and create their works according to these laws. Any deviation from the norm was strictly condemned. He also formulated the priority of those genres in which classicists should write their works.
