Who discovered electricity and when?

In 1733, glass and resin electricity was first discovered by the Frenchman Scherle Dufay. He made this discovery quite by accident, because only after rubbing glass on wool, and then resin on silk, did he notice something unusual. In 1745, the Dutchman Peter van Muschenbruck created the world’s first electric capacitor, it was the Leiden Bank. In 1897, Joseph Thompson discovered the electron, which is a material carrier of energy.
