Who formed the Frankish state?

The Frankish kingdom began to form on the territory of the captured Gaul in 486. The first ruler who took a step towards the formation of a single centralized state was Clovis, a native of the Merovingian dynasty. He carried out reforms and organized campaigns of conquest to Europe and other barbarian tribes. Thanks to the adoption of Christianity, he managed to unite the disparate tribes into one state. After him, the rulers continued to work to centralize the Frankish tribal unions.
