Who made the first trip around the world?

Portuguese navigator Fernand Magellan served his country in the Indian Ocean for many years and took part in the conquest of new lands. After the end of the service, when he returned to Portugal, he offered the king to supply a new expedition and get to India from the west, but the king did not approve of this proposal. In return, Magellan’s idea was adopted by the Spaniards. Under the command of Magellan, the Spanish expedition was the first in the history of mankind to travel around the globe (from 1519 to 1522).
