Who was the first scientist to look at plant cells through a microscope?

The cellular structure of living organisms was first described by Robert Hooke. He wanted to understand what cork is made of, that it floats so well. To do this, the scientist examined a section of a balsa tree through a microscope and noticed that it looked like a honeycomb. Later, another scientist – Anthony Levenguk, inspired by the works of Robert Hooke, continued to study living organisms in a microscope and discovered the simplest, bacteria.
