Titus Flavius Vespasian was the Roman emperor for just over 2 years. He ruled in the state from June 79 AD. until September 81 A.D. The emperor’s father, who was his predecessor on the imperial throne, was his full namesake. However, Titus went down in ancient history under his personal name. At the beginning of his reign, there was a large-scale eruption of Vesuvius, as a result of which several settlements were destroyed. The end of the reign of the emperor was caused by his death at the age of 42.
