Who were the creators of the Slavic everyday alphabet – the Cyrillic alphabet?

They were brothers Constantine (Cyril) and Methodius from Thessaloniki. By order of the Byzantine emperor in the ninth century AD, they created a new alphabet called the Cyrillic alphabet.
