Who, when and why defeated Assyria?

Assyria in ancient times was very powerful. True, it was built on wars and brutal rule. In this connection, at the end of the 7th century BC, an uprising was raised in Babylon, which was supported by the Medes. Thus, soon the combined army of the Babylonians and the Medes was able to defeat the Assyrian army. After that, the capital of Assyria, Nineveh, was taken. The city was burned and destroyed. So at the end of 605 BC, the Assyrian Empire was finished.
