Whose interests were expressed by the representatives of liberalism?

Liberalism considers the rights and freedoms of each individual person to be the highest value. Liberalism had many currents. Liberalism presupposes equality of all before the law, free and equal access to all benefits, participation of people in state, political, and economic activities on an equal basis. This current is rooted in Ancient Greece. An example would be the life of some Greek city-states. This philosophical trend existed as a resistance to absolutism, mercantilism and orthodox religions. Representatives of liberalism expressed the interests of any person as a component of society.
