In the same year, there was a decisive battle with the troops of Darius 3. The battle took place at Gaugamela. This battle was Alexander’s great triumph. King Darius 3 fled, and Macedonian triumphantly entered Babylon, which became its new capital. In the period from 331 to 327 BC, Alexander’s troops completely captured the remnants of the empire.
