Why are congenital reflexes called unconditioned?

Due to the fact that for their occurrence, certain circumstances (conditions) are not needed to develop a reflex. Such reflexes include the sucking reflex. The child is not taught to eat, but from birth he can already drink his mother’s milk. The same goes for many other reflexes. This is a cry when irritated and so on. Conditioned reflexes arise already in the presence of some life experience of a person. For example – jerking your hand away from a hot object or pressing the brake pedal when you see an obstacle in front of the car.
