Why are gymnosperms and angiosperms classified as higher seed plants?

Angiosperms and gymnosperms are classified as higher (terrestrial) plants due to the possibility of tissue differentiation, since it has the ability to implement the process of forming a set of characteristics inherent in an individual at a certain stage of development. This ability is the difference between higher plants and lower ones. Gymnosperms and angiosperms have a higher organization and their distribution is carried out using seeds with a complex structure with a multicellular embryo.
