Why are insects considered an example of biological progress?

Insects are best suited to their environment. This confirms the fact that the number of insects exceeds the number of all other animal organisms. There are a large number of their species and almost every representative of the species gives rise to large offspring – from several dozen to several hundred new organisms. Insects are distributed practically over the entire surface of our planet. Also, they are able to quickly adapt to different environmental conditions.
