Why are mountain areas marked separately on the natural map?

In the mountains, nature changes with altitude. This phenomenon is called altitude polarity. For example, in the northern regions of the Caucasus Mountains, the steppes turn into forests, and forests – into alpine forests, and even higher begins the zone of ice and snow. Therefore, mountainous areas on the map of natural zones are marked separately.
