Why are mushrooms a separate kingdom?

Mushrooms are a separate kingdom, as they do not belong to plants or animals.
Only mushrooms combine plant and animal traits. From animals they inherited a substance called glycogen, and from plants – a number of organelles and eukaryotes, covered with a shell of chitin. The body of the fungus is formed from hyphae, which form the vegetative body of the fungus, which also form the mycelium of the fungus – mycelium.
Mushrooms also have a special metabolism – they feed on ready-made organic substances. They synthesize beneficial vitamins. For example, they contain:
* Protein – 40%.
* Lipids – 10%.
* Carbohydrates – 60%.
* Minerals – 25%.
Thanks to this, mushrooms play an important role in the food chain of nature – the accumulation of nutrients in their bodies.
