Why are rodents widespread in nature?

Rodents are very common in various natural communities. This is due to the fact that there is enough plant food for their life. They are small in size and are able to coexist with each other in a small area. There is a problem with rabbits in Australia. They destroy plants and thereby harm the entire ecology of Australia. The number of rodents is regulated only by other predatory animals. Without predatory animals, rodents can easily destroy any natural community with their vital activity.
