Why are skeleton and muscles considered together?

Skeleton and muscles are always considered together in the course of anatomy, because their functions are interrelated and impossible without each other. They are referred to the organs of the musculoskeletal system, the main importance in the body of which is protection, support and movement.
Muscles rest on bones, while also performing a protective function, for example: large arteries run along the inner surface of the bones, and are covered with muscles on top.
