Why are spinal and spinal cord injuries dangerous?

Nerve impulses go through the spinal cord both to the brain (GM) and from it. If the ascending paths are damaged, sensitivity will suffer, respectively, a person may lose sensitivity in any part of the body, or pain, burning and other disorders will occur. If it is impossible for the impulse to pass from the GM to the muscles, the motor sphere will suffer, the person will not be able to move and simply move the arm or leg.
