Why are the coastlines of South America and Africa the same?

The outlines of the coastlines of South America (east coast) and Africa (west coast) coincide for the reason that earlier these continents in this place united and formed one giant continent. Apart from these two continents, all the others also once connected. Then the common continent broke up into separate parts, which continue to move in different directions (Alfred Wegener’s theory of continental drift). The ancient continent in which all six modern ones were collected was called Pangea.
