Why are there almost no annual plants in the tundra?

The tundra is a natural area characterized by difficult conditions for the existence of plants: low temperatures, short daylight hours, poor swampy soil. The growing season of plants in the tundra is very short, since summer there lasts about a calendar month, most of the year is occupied by winter. It is these factors that can explain the fact that there are practically no annual plants in the tundra, they simply do not have time to go through all the stages of development in a short growing season, and therefore do not have time to reproduce.
