Why are tree trunks dangerous for trees?

Also in the bark are sieve tubes that transport minerals, water and salts. Another point – if the trunk is damaged, the process of sap flow begins, this place is also vulnerable and attracts pests. If the trunk is severely damaged, it becomes less strong, which directly affects the lifespan of the plant, especially in areas where there is increased windiness.
