Why can an animal’s organism be called a complex system?

Unlike bacteria, for example, an animal’s body is called multicellular, that is, it consists of many cells. In the body of an animal, there are many processes that support its vital activity. A complex organism has a defense system (immune, skin integument, reflexes, etc.), a system that helps to move (ligaments, muscles, bones – skeletal, muscular) and many more systems and subsystems.
