Why can’t cockroaches be considered pets?

Everyone knows cockroaches and most of us hate them. But not all. There are many large and beautiful species that are kept as pets. Most of them are not at all like the types that you know.

Many cockroaches are not kept as pets because they are considered pests. They can only be kept as food for reptiles such as chameleons and geckos. Cockroaches can also feed on praying mantises. There are about 4,500 species of cockroach. Only a few are kept as pets or insects for feeding.
