Why can’t rhizoids be called roots?

Rhizoids cannot be called roots for the following reasons:
1. The roots have a complex structure, each of the zones has its own type of tissue. The simplest rhizoids consist of one cell. The most complex ones may resemble a reduced branching root, but there is no solid stem in it. And according to the internal structure, the rhizoids are homogeneous and do not have tissues.
2. Roots have more functions. In addition to the function of rhizoids, the roots can accumulate and synthesize useful substances.
