Why did authoritarian regimes arise in European countries? What features were they characterized by?

An authoritarian regime is a state policy based on the independent power of one or more people. Such a system was established in some European states due to the coming to power of strong personalities. This was typical in modern times. The authoritarian regime differs from the rest in that it contains both dictatorial and democratic elements. It may not have an impact on culture or social life. But at the same time, any opposition is suppressed by the state.
