Why did Caesar order statues of the gods next to his statues?

Caesar came from a noble family, but had no right to claim the imperial throne. Only after his victories over the Gauls, reforms in Rome and various entertainment events, which received the approval of the common people, Caesar was able to become emperor. His images were minted on coins and his statues stood next to the images of the gods. This was to show that his power is divine, he is chosen by the gods and should be honored just like them.
