Why did the medieval church condemn the collection of tuition fees?

The Church believed that education should be free for everyone. In their opinion, knowledge is a valuable gift given by God from above. And therefore, they cannot be drawn into the chain of commodity – market relations. The clergy knew that only an educated person can become a real monk or priest. And if you introduce tuition fees, many decent smart children who do not have enough funds will be forced to go straight to work and not realize their talent and gift. Money prevented people from living, since it defiled their souls and honor. And since the church fought for equality and justice, they also protested against the introduction of payment for education.

One of the components of a person's success in our time is receiving modern high-quality education, mastering the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for life in society.
