Why did the number of states increase after the Second World War?

After the Second World War, which lasted from 1939 to 1945 (it began with the German attack on Poland), the colonies ceased to exist (this war ended the colonial era). The political map of the world has radically changed. In the places of the colonies, independent states were formed. Among these states were Lebanon, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Syria. In order to prevent military conflicts of this magnitude in the future, the UN was created.
