Why did the Persians easily conquer Babylon?

This is due to the fact that Babylon at that time was in decline, different layers of the population were in conflict with each other, in addition, there were frequent uprisings. Cyrus 2 was able to take advantage of this and captured the weakened state. Thus, in 539 BC, ancient Babylon was annexed to the Persian empire. Then other states in the Ancient East were annexed to Persia.
