Why did the plan of lightning war against France fail?

There are 4 reasons for the failure:
1) The plan was built on the firm belief that the Russian troops were ill-prepared for surprise hostilities and it would not be able to make retaliatory actions by Germany in the East. Also England will not be able to support France.
2) Belgium put up significant resistance to the German troops.
3) The troops of England were able to land in France and began hostilities.
4) The offensive of Russia on the Eastern Front was able to distract Germany from the military operations of France.
