Why did the Scythians consider themselves the descendants of Hercules?

The Scythians lived on the shores of the Black Sea, where there were Greek colonies, including the Tauric Chersonesos, where Hercules was especially revered. According to one of the legends, he had a Scythian son – a shooter (archer). The Scythians actively interacted with the Greeks culturally, therefore they also borrowed the cult of Hercules from them. In some Scythian clans, rulers from Hercules led their genealogy.
