Why did the unification of Germany take place peacefully?

The idea of unification came from Prussia, which stood out among other German monarchies with a powerful army, a strong capitalist economy and a strong vertical of state power. It was even advantageous for many German feudal principalities to lose their independence, because then all the responsibilities for their maintenance and defense fell on the shoulders of the most populated and influential Prussia. Weak principalities and duchies did not have the strength to resist unification under the auspices of Prussia.
