The First World War began in 1914. Three years later, the United States of America joined it. The reason for such a late participation in the war was several factors. Firstly, large manufacturers and statesmen of the United States counted on the fact that the participating countries would suffer heavy losses, and all sales markets would be open to America. Also, the reason was the desire to get rich of many American industrialists in the production of weapons for the front. It was planned to take a leading position in trade.
