Why did the West want to conquer the whole world in the 19th century?

West means Europe, USA and Japan. It’s true. Countries of this type were highly developed, they were dominated by the policy of imperialism. This meant that the countries were all the time in search of the capture or colonization of new territories, the expansion of their state. In Western countries, an industrial society was developing, which was looking for new sales markets, new territories to increase their resource bases. As a result, the industrialized imperialist countries sought hegemony throughout the world.
