Why do chemical elements repeatedly participate in the biological cycle, but this does not happen with energy?

Our habitat is a closed system. Nothing can simply disappear and emerge from the void. All chemicals are involved in the vital processes of living organisms. Organic substances are created from inorganic substances. After a while, they are cleaved with the help of other living organisms. This is the cycle of substances. Energy is something else. Chemicals are needed to generate energy. When an organic molecule is burned, energy is released that cannot be converted back into an organic molecule.
