Why do I need a second division of meiosis, after all, a decrease in the number of chromosomes by 2 times occurred already during the first division.

As a result of meiosis, four haploid (sex) cells are formed. So that the number of chromosomes with each subsequent fusion of gametes does not double, their separation occurs. As a result of meiosis I, dichromatid chromosomes diverge to the poles, and during meiosis II, only one chromosome strand, chromatid, remains in each new cell. This ensures that the correct number of chromosomes are formed in each new offspring.
