Why do many aquatic mammals have no developed ears?

Auricles in marine mammals are not developed, since the conductivity of sound in water is better than in air, and there is no need for them. In addition, the presence of an auricle would create unnecessary turbulence when swimming, and would violate the streamlined shape of the body. They have only the inner ear, which communicates with the external environment by the auditory canal.
