Why do only animals live in the ocean at great depths?

Since plants are autotrophs, they need light to live. They use the energy of the sun for photosynthesis. And, as you know, visible light does not penetrate to a depth of more than 200 m, which does not allow plants to survive there. Animals do not depend on the energy of sunlight, therefore they can exist at any depth.
