Why do people commit crimes? How is crime different from wrongdoing?

It is impossible to single out any one reason. People commit crimes for different reasons. Someone commits a crime for lack of money, someone has mental disorders, someone out of revenge. An offense differs from a crime in that it is the least dangerous to others. A crime is a direct violation of the law, followed by punishment. The act may not have any consequences for the one who committed it.
