Why do the ancient Egyptians turn to the gods?

The ancient Egyptians believed in gods. It was believed that they rule the whole world, and in each area of life there is a god who rules it. For example, Bastet ruled love, beauty, family life and fertility, Maat ruled the world order and truth, Anubis ruled over the dead, Hapi ruled over the Nile and the harvest. Therefore, the Egyptians believed that if you ask the gods for something that they command, then you can get it, for example, ask Thoth, the god of wisdom, to give wisdom to the supplicant.
