Why do tropical latitudes receive more solar energy?

The tropical zone really receives a large amount of sunlight, and therefore solar energy. For example, at the equator there is a fairly large amount of precipitation, respectively, there are many days when the sun hides behind clouds. In addition, the average temperature is lower than in the tropics. But in the tropics there is an area of high atmospheric pressure, there are practically no clouds, and there are a lot of sunny days a year, and therefore there is a great potential of solar panels in this climatic zone.
