Why do we only see one side of the moon?

The speed of rotation of the Moon around the Earth is absolutely identical to the speed with which it makes a revolution around its axis, that is, the rotation of the Moon around the Earth and around its own axis is synchronized. This synchronization appeared due to the influence of the gravitational attraction of the Earth, in particular by the friction of the tides. Thus, thanks to this synchronization, we always see the same side of the moon.
