World wars occur when the interests of two large states or blocs of states that affect other countries or territories collide. The reason for such a war is the redistribution of spheres of influence in a certain part of the world. So in World War II, Japan fought for supremacy in the Pacific Ocean, Germany wanted to conquer all of Europe and make its way to Asia, and so on.
