Why do you think the restoration in England did not provoke resistance in society? What were the features of the regime that was established after the restoration?

The restoration of the monarchy on the lands of England, Scotland and Ireland in 1660, known in history as the “restoration of the Stuarts” was supported by the common people, the English aristocracy and some of the deputies of parliament, who were disillusioned with the policy of the current government of Oliver Cromwell’s supporters, who dragged England into a long and destructive war with Spain. After Charles II was declared king, the war ended, the army was disbanded, and the restored House of Lords continued to work.
