Why does a person need knowledge about the lithosphere?

The lithosphere is the hard shell of the Earth. It consists of the earth’s crust and the upper part of the mantle. Knowledge about it is important in mining, industry, construction and metallurgy. That is why, without understanding what the lithosphere is, we could not build houses and roads, and we would not be able to grow something (engage in agriculture).
