Why does the body need movable tissues?

Movable tissues (muscles) are necessary for moving the body in space, performing fine work (drawing, sewing), maintaining the body’s vital processes in response to changes in the environment (narrowing-expansion of the vascular lumen, increased heart rate, regulation of intestinal motility for the advancement and evacuation of food content). These processes are maintained by smooth and striated muscle tissue.
