Why does the current in the coil not stop when the capacitor is discharged?

The changing magnetic field and coil creates a reverse self-induction current.
The self-induction current charges the capacitor. A charged capacitor stores energy in the form of an electric field and when self-induction weakens, current will flow back through the coil.
