Why does the Great Sphinx have a pharaoh’s head?

Until now, the Sphinx is a mysterious sculpture, with the body of a lion and the face of a pharaoh. The face of the Sphinx resembles an obvious resemblance to the ruler Khefren, who ruled from about 2575-2465 BC. The tomb of Khafre is located next to the Sphinx monument, therefore there is an opinion that the Sphinx was erected by Khafren and, accordingly, the face of the sculpture reminds of the ruler.
