Why does the tropical belt in Africa occupy a large area?

As you know, the tropical climatic zone is located after the equatorial and subequatorial, that is, it occupies similar latitudes in both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. And since the equator passes through the territory of Africa (almost in the center of the continent), this continent also falls into two hemispheres. So, both the northern tropical zone and the southern one pass through the continent, as a result of which this zone occupies a significant part of the area of Africa.
