Why does water taste different in different water bodies?

Depending on which of the listed components is in the water, its smell and taste will change. So an excess of acid gives water a sour taste, an excess of lime – a hard earthy taste, an excess of silt or clay – an unpleasant clay taste, an excess of organic components – an unpleasant characteristic rotten taste.
